De lágrimas y vueltas fue tomando forma mientras que conocía y acompañaba a artistas palestinos que vinieron a Barcelona con la Red Teja desde principios de 2025 en el contexto del genocidio.
A la vez, había empezado a dibujar espirales todos los días. Meses más tarde, me di cuenta de que dibujé el primer espiral el mismo día que conocí al primer artista de Gaza.
La conexión más profunda y duradera fue con Shada Safadi durante su residencia en La Escocesa. Luego, cuando ella regresó a los Altos del Golán, intercambiamos mensajes de voz como parte de este proyecto, hablando de las historias de nuestras familias árabes-drusas y judías y de la violencia que comete Israel distorcionando esas historias.
La obra es una pregunta que pretende abordar una realidad aberrante, una búsqueda de posibles formas de resistir juntes contra la opresión exterminadora, un intento de no quedarnos paralizades y de seguir creando obras (y lágrimas) sobre el genocidio.
Este proyecto formó parte del programa NOSYMMETRIES de IDENSITAT y se expuso en La Capella como parte de la muestra colectiva Vuestro orden está levantado sobre arena del 12 de marzo al 12 de abril de 2026.

At the beginning of 2025 I decided to draw a spiral every day when I arrived to my studio as a daily practice making movements and sounds that I enjoyed and bothered me at the same time.
During that time I was participating in activities against the Palestinian genocide and helping raise money to take artists out of the conflict areas. Then, I met and accompany this artists during their time in Barcelona. Coming from a non-zionist Jewish family, I thought I just had to support and defend the Palestinian cause.
Months later, I realized that the first spiral was made the very same day I met the first artist from Gaza.
The deepest and longest connection was with Shada Safadi during her residency at La Escocesa. Then, when she was back in Golan Heights, we exchanged voice messages as part of this piece talking about the histories of our Arab-Druze and Jewish families and the violence Israel commits distorting those histories.
The piece is a question aimed at engaging with an aberrant reality, a search for possible ways to resist together against the exterminatory oppression, an attempt not to be paralyzed and to continue creating work (and tears) about the genocide.
This project was part of the program NOSYMMETRIES by IDENSITAT and was exhibited in La Capella as part of the group show Vuestro orden está levantado sobre arena from march 12th to april 12th 2026.
