Laura Arensburg works with moving images, bodies and relations observing the intimate and physical connections with her surroundings whilst exploring the transitions and contradictions of identity, perception and contemporary power relations.
She is a graduate of ENERC, the school of the Argentine Film Institute; the Independent Studies Programme at MACBA (ES); and is currently undertaking the Master’s in Art, Gender and Nature at the FHNW in Basel, Switzerland.
She recently presented her performatic piece Malvidentes in it’s last version in La Capella with the Barcelona Producció grant from the city government and in the same art center has showed her piece Tears and Turns part of the collective show Vuestro orden está levantado sobre arena.
She has received grants from Barcelona Crea, OCIC-Generalitat de Catalunya, INCAA (AR), Consorci de Museus de la Comunitat Valenciana, Fondo Nacional de las Artes (AR), La Escocesa, Idensitat, Mecenazgo (AR), Fondo Metropolitano de las Artes y las Ciencias (AR), and Prodanza (AR).
She has been an artist-in-residence at La Escocesa, the Centre d’Arts Santa Mònica, Hangar, Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània, La Bonne, Walden and CIA Centro de Investigaciones Artísticas (AR).
She has developed educational and arts mediation projects in collaboration with MACBA (ES), the Museo Moderno de Buenos Aires, the Centro Cultural Recoleta (AR), Can Felipa Arts Visuals (ES), Dilalica (ES), Museus d’Esplugues (ES), and the Ondare Bizia Professional Conference (Guipúzcoa), Usina del Arte (AR), Centro Cultural de España en Buenos Aires.
